Stay safe when using KumaShops

KumaShops is a marketplace that helps people find adverts and contact providers. Provider verification and customer reviews are still being developed. A listing on the site is not a guarantee of identity, ownership, qualifications, product condition or service quality. Please make your own checks before you agree to a transaction.

Before you pay or book

• For property: view the property in person or arrange a trusted person to do so. Confirm the advertiser is authorised to rent it, agree terms in writing and avoid paying a deposit before you have checked the property and the person offering it.
• For goods: inspect the item and confirm it works before paying where possible. Be cautious of pressure to pay in advance, unusually low prices or requests to move a conversation away from the listed contact.
• For services: ask for relevant experience or references, agree the work, price and payment stages in writing, and verify any qualifications or licences directly with the issuing body.
• For meetings: choose a public place for handovers, tell someone where you are going, and avoid sharing passwords, PINs or one-time security codes.
• For every transaction: keep messages and payment records. Use a payment method you understand and can verify; do not rely on screenshots as proof of payment.

Report a suspicious listing
